In my life's tapestry, sometimes the unexpected threads add the most profound colors. Little did I realize when Eric and John Gaston mentioned helping Eric's twenty-five-year-old web design and tech company, WTE Solutions, that lunch would save my life.
The two year journey of. building my tiny house on my brother Drew's ten acres in Efland, North Carolina (outside of Chapel Hill) was over. Tiny house built - check. Lot cleared- check. I needed a challenge because I live for missions and challenges. I didn't realize it then, but Eric and John were worried about me.
When they visited my tiny house, they saw my need for a renewed sense of purpose. They knew I battled cancer, and Eric, John, and Cynthia were worried another fight without a sense of belonging and purpose would kill me. Looking back on it now, they were right because if I'd gotten sick again without a mission, without my friends, fighting wouldn't have come to mind.
Eric and Cynthia gave me a mission - to help WTE Solutions create a new website, find new customers, and craft innovative tech projects. This mission was a game-changer. It gave me something invaluable: hope, a sense of belonging, and a new team to be part of, contribute to, and cherish.
Being part of WTE Solutions meant I could contribute to something bigger than myself, rekindling my passion and reigniting my creativity. As I immersed myself in my Content Marketing Director role, I found more than a job. I found a community and a support system. Working alongside Eric, Cynthia, and the great team at WTE Solutions is exciting challenging, and every day is a new adventure because tech tigers don't tame themselves.
This journey with WTE Solutions was more than just professional development; it was personal growth and healing. I discovered reservoirs of strength and resilience as I plugged back into tech, web design, SEO, and content marketing. The work became therapeutic, instilling a newfound confidence and optimism.
Then, as has happened so many times, I got sick again. Thankfully I now had a sense of connection and community. Where there was isolation now I had challenge, a mission, support, and friends. Eric and Cynthia didn't just save my life; they helped me rediscover it.
