Fighting cancer exhausts me, so I need something to fight for, and art and artists are a cause that lives in my heart. In these digital times, currency flows toward the digital and away from artists staring at blank canvases with brushes in their hands. For years, starting at Vassar College, I tried and failed to create what I could see, so I respect artists like Sarah Emerson, whose "Going Steady with Disaster" makes me laugh. I've been going steady with disaster for almost twenty years. I love the ghostly tombstones in her print. This personal connection to the cause is what drives me, and I hope it resonates with you too.
Sarah, from Atlanta, is one exception defining my "North Carolina artists" collection. As of August 2024 every ArtCures artist is in my collection. Your support, your suggestions, and your shared causes are what make this journey worthwhile.
Wandering around, meeting amazing artists, adding masterpieces to my collection, and helping artists turn their passions into livelihoods feel like something worth fighting for. What are you fighting for? Let me know which artists you think I should add next. Oh, and please share what you're
fighting for, as it will prove to be an inspiration for me and others.
